About the Artist – Carol Carson
As the daughter of a painter/sculptress, I viewed and was influenced by the work of many master artists at the fine art museums that my mother would take me to in the Washington/Baltimore area where I was raised. With an interest in design, I earned a B.A. degree in Graphic Arts from Cal State U. Northridge. I worked as an art director and later returned to school to get a teaching credential at CSUF and a Masters in Education at Chapman U. I taught for 25 years in PYLUSD – mostly in elementary school with the last seven years in high school teaching art and photography. I encouraged many of my talented art students to compete in national and local contests including high school competitions at PYLAA, the Nixon Museum and Library and the Yorba Linda Woman’s Club. I am very proud of their many successes. Since retiring a year and a half ago, my interest in painting has been rekindled. Watercolor and ink portraits are my subject of choice these days.
